Corton Grand Cru "Les Renardes"

0.3 hectares of vines planted in 1956.
This plot sits mid-slope on the hill of Corton. It faces southeast and is considered to be one of Corton’s most prestigious.
These vines grow on very chalky soil on the lower part of the hillside with much more clay on the upper part; the opposite on the rest of the Côte de Beaune. This is due to a limestone fault in the middle of the plot which has resulted in lots of limestone mother rock outcrops on the lower part of the slope.
Pinot Noir : 100%

This wine is always very lively thanks to the strong presence of limestone in the soil. It is racy and powerful, with great depth.
