Thibault Liger-Belair Successeurs
The company Thibault Liger-Belair Successeurs created in 2003, had the goal to buy back the part of the estates’ wines that belong to the Liger-Belair’s family.
“We thought that it was interesting to use this company to vinify other appellations on other plots. This is why we started this business of buying grapes with a very specific objective: to harvest, to vinify and to raise it on my own. We then began to work with the winemakers to go back to cleaner and more soil-friendly farming practices. So, we buy the crops between June and July and we do the last work ourselves. It is not the fact that the winemaker works in a bad way but each of us has his own method of development. We offer the winemaker to buy from him the permitted yield, which makes us free to choose the yield we want between 25 and 35 hl depending on the vintage.”
